  1. I need help . I bought policy in march for liability. But after speaking to attorney prior to a different case . Was recommeded to get collision and comprehensive coverage . I did so. One month later while car is parked in my apartment some one or somthing hit my car . I made a claim . My adjuster send me straight to fraud and my car i took it to the shop . Insurance came there and total my car . But never paid me . Shop put a lien to the car. And now no car and no money . What the heck is wrong with progressive .

  2. Car was recently stolen full coverage, luckily it was found the same day within 12 hours but there was damage to the vehicle, body damage, also when I went to close my door I could hear a bunch of water in the door and the electronics were not working properly for the windows Etc. The insurance adjuster came out to look at the car while I was at work unable to open the vehicle for him, which there was a giant cut in the seat that isn't being accounted for with the money. Additionally some electronic issues, so the first appraisal for the body damage was $1,871. After speaking to a ve4y nice lady who said do not take the money, and that he would have to come out again, now he's saying that once it's at a shop any more $ would be in a check for the body shop. Feel like he's just a dick who doesn't wanna be fair. My question, if I accept the $1,871, why would the other money be written by check to the body shop or any other shop that does electronics. When he looked at the vehicle the car was locked and he was unable to see the interior damage such as a person cutting the front seat, just a game to them it feels like

  3. What a joke. Asking a body shop manager to meet with an adjuster? Are you serious? When is a body shot manager going to leave their shop to meet with a cut rate carrier adjuster? Additionally, the use of the word counterfeit is a joke here. If you're filing a claim with your insurance company, the parts that are written on your estimate are part of the policy in which you pay for. Refusing those parts is essentially refusing parts that you signed up for in the first place. If you want OEM only parts, maybe you should have paid for an OEM endorsement on your policy. What a joke

  4. I got $11,000 on my 2011 CTS totaled out. I kept refusing their claims that it could be fixed. I took it to a highly rated trusted body shop. All the guy did was look at it as it sat and told me it had serious frame damage. There's no way you're saving that car with the miles that are on it. The fact is it can take months of negotiating back and forth to get what you need out of the vehicle that you have. Most people try to get it done within the window of their rental and just take whatever offer. Don't do that! Especially if someone else was at fault you can go after their insurance company for your rental and then go after yours to extend it. Don't ever take the first estimate!

  5. I’m going through crazy stuff right now with a dealership. Rush truck center when I replace a part and it’s 1 year warranty but the the part failed 10 months later now they don’t want to honor that warranty and talking about I need to pay for parts and labor but when I purchased the parts it’s a 12 w months warranty and labor. I’m looking to sue them for breach of warranty and False advertising

  6. The adjustor for the driver who hit me wants to totally bi pass the inspection and have my car towed strait to an major online Auction house. Isn't that illegal…its only the back bumper that's been hit ( badly) but I think it's worth a estimate

  7. You’re giving advice to demand OEM parts when a majority policies dictate the use of remanufactured or used parts when available. The problem here lies in the fact that people just shop for cheap insurance and don’t read the fine print and what’s actually included when their vehicle is damaged.

  8. A few days ago, a gentleman sideswiped my car just a little and made scratches to my bumper and some of the body of the car on the driver side. I called their insurance company and they were on it right away. What I don’t understand is that because I own my vehicle, they are persistent on getting me to take it to the shop to get it fixed as opposed to talking to me about the estimate. I don’t know the cost of the fix, but it’s very minor and I would rather keep the money for myself. I have not heard from the adjuster after I gave him my email and I am receiving phone calls about setting up with enterprise to get a rental. I don’t know how to tell the insurance company that is paying for my damages that I want to check and I’m not going to bother fixing it. Any ideas?

  9. This is why I went with a Geico approved body shop. The work is warrantied for the life of car as long as I own it, so if it's not up to my standard I have them redo it. Panels aren't lining up right? Redo it. Paint doesn't look right? Redo it. Panels shifted 2 years later? Redo it.

Obviously they're incentized to do it right the first time, since me coming back isn't profitable. But if they don't get it right the first time around, I'm covered at least.

  10. I once was inadvertently involved in an accident with a semi truck and another car. He split the lane between us, hitting us both. Scraped it.

The truck company sent a guy down to talk to me. I Saud the trucker had nothing to do with the guy hitting us. He was just going along.

The moron in the other car claimed it drove itself. OK, unintended acceleration. But does that affect the parking brake/brakes or the steering…? No, they're all separate.

  11. Does someone know if what he says is also applicable in europe? I mean is the tendency of the insurance adjuster also to get to a lower compensation amount?

  12. GIECO. BEWARE THEY ARE CRIMINALS. They will do anything to up your premium. STAY AWAY.
I’m a 69yo disabled veteran and retired pilot who recently got screwed by GIECO. Do not use these guys. They will rip you off within 6 months. RUN AWAY they are criminals.
