  1. I got approved in the hiring process as financial advisor for NYL. I took my license to be able to sell insurance in CA.
When I was about to start working.
The manager who was hiring me never get my calls, was always unavailable.
Cause of that I listened my gut and I didn’t take the job since the manager was very unprofessional I felt I would be left out.
And I Don’t regret at all.

  2. Unless u have a book of business do yourself a favor don't go into this job the management is garbage they don't care about their agents… the managing partner puts pdfs during work meetings about how his daughters soccer team is 15 and 0 meanwhile he's got people there going months and weeks without getting paid.. u can make money but majority of people leave the job… go if u have a book of business and connections and know your gonna make money if u don't have a book of business don't do it

  3. Are there any sales quotas when first starting out? I feel like they want me to pay for the life license then cut me right after I sell friends policies and can't get anymore. I just want to be there enough time to get sponsored for series 7 so I can take that elsewhere in a finance banking career

  4. I live in Michigan and am studying for my exam. Your videos are great, you kind of remind me of myself in ways. haha Would love to work with you, I feel like we would make a great team. Wish me luck and keep of the great videos. ?

  5. David, I had two person to person interviews with New York life, each interview was 2 hour long. In between interviews I had to do an assessment test, fill out a lot or paper work, such as my 10 year work history and give a concent to let them check my background and run criminal background. Before the we schedule our 3 interview, I was give a homework to do: I have to contact 10 people in my circle and do a phone market survey with each. Once I complete that, then I need to let them know and they will schedule for a 3rd interview. Does that sound right? For me to survey my friends when I don't even have my L&H insurance. Or is that a normal process?

  6. I’m really excited to change my career. Little stuck now on wether to go into real estate or insurance sales. Trying to decide which to do. Nervous about full commission sales.

  7. Dave, I've been watching your videos and love the content. Has answered so many of my questions. But I still have one question. How do I leave my captive agency. It's a good place, good management. I love most of the people I work with. I've learned a lot but I am just too curious to stay in captivity. It is a smaller branch and I am one of the top producing agents (which isn't much of a feat) and I feel like I'm entwined in culture and not wanting to let my team down. Any advice would be great. Also I think this is a great topic for a new video
