I live in Texas, I got in a Car accident a couple months ago, I had full coverage so my current insurance company covered my car to get fixed. I never reported the accident to the DMV/DPS But now my insurance went up alot, I have one month to renew with this company. I was thinking about switching companies if I can find a cheaper one. If I call a new company and tell them I have noe prior car accidents would they be able to find out I had? Cause it’s not on my driving record? Thanks

  1. The insurance claim would have een put on an insurance claim database like Carfax of other list they use. The new insurance company would probaly know about it.

  2. For car insurance the quick way to get a great rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you pick similar options with the same limits, car model, location, etc so that all options are an accurate comparison.

What I usually recommend is an internet comparison quote at since they have top name insurers and can give many quotes on car insurance polices.

  3. I have progressive, got in an accident and did not report the claim.

Yet, somehow they still found out. I think its probably because whoever you got into an accident with reported the claim.

    But that’s just a guess.

  4. There are tons of places where you can get a free insurance quote. It only takes a few minutes to do.
