Did you know?
Companies tried to move the carbon brake tech over to mountain biking, but because the rotors are thinner, they don't seem to work as well as the thicc rotors of drag racing.
What a great track day! The pits are always so fun at those events. The people are awesome and everyone there loves what they do! The top fuel tech is crazy… the shrinking of the connecting rods, all the measuring done run to run…, the methodologies the use for tuning are so simple yet crazy advanced, and pro street… banging gears is amazing! There is always something to learn in the pits. Dude, I'm a yt newb for editing… your videos… top shelf! One day… I'll get there! I really enjoy the technical aspect of your channel. The tech on some of those cars… always gives me ridiculous ideas for builds!
In about 1967 my older brother took me to Bonneville Raceway in Salt Lake. The was a Papadakis car at the meet. I wanna say Mike or Ike? Seems like it was a bucket hot rod. I remember it doing well and being a crowd favorite. Any relation?
There was another car there named “A Rapid Apparatus” (har).
Use to think it would be fun to hear an announcer call “Ike Papadakis driving “A Rapid Apparatus” yah yah I know, “cool story, bro.”
Some of these are not correct entirely
yeah cool. i learnt heaps
THIS LOOKS LIKE POMONA CALIFORNIA….??
Look i watched that shifter part 79 times and have no idea whats going on inside that thing
Just realized how little I know about cars. If there's no transmission why are they shifting gears?
novos videos?
Personally I blame squirrels
great info im tuned in for more
How long does the engine last?
excellent!
Held in by hose clamps!!?? I was today old when I learned that. I am still wrapping my head around how it can hold a 5000 HP+ motor in the chassis…
There's more solid information in this five minute video than a couple of hours worth of other videos claiming to do the same thing. You've got a great channel.
Are drag strips built so the vehicles run a specific direction. E to W, W to E, ?
This was awesome Steph ..way to make it make sense to us who wish we were involved more in it..I follow the tech but never see it in action ..and the hose clamps had no idea that was super cool
If you go to large NHRA event, if you are lucky and they have a show and tell in the pits called Nitro School, make every attempt to see it. They take about an hour, they bring different crew members/tech staff up and they go over the in's and outs of TOP Fuel Racing. It is truly mind blowing. I have seen it at the U.S. Nationals, several times, and I loved it. I wish it was on video, so I could watch it over and over.
The Transmission in the thumbnail looks like a Supercharger with a Shifter on top of it lmao
