Those were the days…When Funny Cars looked like cars. ?
brings back memories when i used to take my 74 rainbow paintjob Duster small block 318 v8 to Cayuga raceway for bracket racing…
Plus have Wally give you your Wally! Wow
Does anyone remember Irwindale raceway? I worked at Irwindale in the early 70's . I recall a top fuel race where it was noted and acclaimed by announcement on the speaker system that the winner was the first to break the 6 second barrier at a 5.99. I remember looking at the tower where the elapsed time was displayed and reading 5.99 for elapsed time. I have searched the internet for Irwindale statistics but there is nothing published for Irwindale. Can someone help me find out why there are no Irwindale records that confirm my eyewitness account that the 6 second barrier was broke at Irwindale?
I was there. Great memories!! 🙂
I want that pickup truck!
Was at the Big "O" that whole weekend, Big Daddy set both ET (5.63) and MPH (250.69) National Records, along with The Snake setting the 5.98 mark……That was an incredible meet.
