Incredible collection!! Perfect music. Jeff Beck is The Man!!
Many of these shots are at my hometown track of Thompson Drag Raceway.
October 31st will be our 4th Florida Dragstrip Riot. To say these cars and that track had an influence on me, would be a understatement. Thanks for sharing

My dad was a racer back then. I remember Sox&Martin, Grumpy's Toy, Bob Glidden, Shirl Greer's Blue Max, so many greats at the races we went to. I still have 8mm film of Indy drag racing 1966. My dad raced B stock automatic.
Yum
Much….Much…..Much more interesting and entertaining era!
Ohhh….help me here. Darnit, I cannot remember that guy's name who raced The Fugitive Corvette Wheelstander. He and I were from Tucson, Az. and he picked me up thumbing for a ride one afternoon back around 1980-82. Very nice, genuine guy. He owned a really cool big military-surplus yard along I-10 near Ruthrauff Rd. and I'd stop in there once in a while to just drool over the bad-ass stuff he had there. Bought a few things here and there, prices were always very reasonable. Ohhh…what was his name. I know he's passed now. I want to say "Dale" – something, but that's prob. not right either. Great video….saw many of those run here at Tucson and at Beeline in Scottsdale.
1:40 a pic of the Unicorn…the mighty Ford 427 SOHC motor. King of the hill!
i wished i was living in the 1970’s
Great collection of B&W photos!

I thought it would be racing not a slide show.pics are good though.
This brings back some great memories from the 60's and early 70's when both my Mother and Father raced in southern Michigan…
Ah, when the world was black and white…….the good ol' days.
I'm a 56 year old man and I approve of this video.
Nice editing thanks
That was outstanding. When privateers not big money was driving drag racing. Great creativity and engineering made each car unique. 2 inline six cylinder engines in that dragster running 6 Webber carbs must have sounded amazing.
hey I saw jungle Jim
Graduated High School. Got a job. Saved my money. Walked into a Chevy showroom. Bought RS/SS 396 Camaro convertible. Drove it a few months. Made all kinds of plans for it. Got home from work one day. Draft notice. Fort Leonard Wood next stop. Car repo'd cause uncle sugar only paid $99/mo and pmt was $105, remember the full loaded package was $4,200 ( 4 speed, positraction, spoiler ect.) called life.
Nothing sounds better than a big block, cam, and open headers. It is music to my ears.
I wish the NHRA would put their heads together and do a series of DragRacing videos! Like a series with T/F, F/C, and ProStock! Use today's video technology. They'd make a KILLING, and we fans would be soo HAPPY!
