Insurance companies really take advantage of us for our ages. This is when capitalism fails: when it’s not capitalism.
The only way they can get away with this is because the government legally requires car insurance, and so both with us and adults they charge as much as possible, and stick extra expenses on it wherever possible.
This is why government shouldn’t get involved in economics: because now I can’t afford to drive between my college and work, nor can I afford to get to my classes since many of them take place off campus. I come from poor people and all this does is make it impossible for me to become my own person. I’m sick of it.
Screw insurance companies who act like we all just have $300-$500 dollars to fork over to them despite us all being kids who haven’t had enough time to save or invest yet,
And screw government both big and small for making this a required thing and getting us in this mess in the first place.

As a teen from the UK, I am watching this video is disbelief in how much your car insurance is. To find out I am paying less a year than drives in California and Florida in my first year of driving is crazy to me. My parents (40s) both pay around £150 a year for cars such as an Audi and a motorbike for my father.
Then again, drivers in the UK are much more trained with stricter traffic laws which keeps most people out of getting into accidents.
