Progressive sucks exhaust. Not worth it and roadside assistance is a SCAM

Let me tell all about progressive they take client insurance money and don't want to fix their cars, especially being hit from the back of your car in a parking lot, they refused to cover. Fraud and scam progressive insurance. Suck my dick

The people at Progressive are CROOKS!

You said you were in the ditch because the person in front of you decided to “make a complete stop in a snow storm.” It would be impossible to make a complete stop if the roads were as slick as you say. Unless the car hit something in front of it would be the only way it would come to a “complete stop”. Not being a know it all. Just wanted to point that out.

Progressive is actually horrible auto insurance overall examples:

1.) Arbitrarily adds other people living in your household to your policy, requiring "proof they are insured otherwise including various personal information and proof of other insurance, license numbers, proof they are not a relative (there is nothing you can do if a relative they will add them, you can remove them from liability, but they are listed…forever. Why? Ask Progressive)

2.) If you have a nicer car, as in newer more than 50K, you will pay often about twice what other insurance companies charge. This will happen over time (yes counterintuitive that older cars cost less to insure, but wait and see) Basically…to coin a pun: Progressively more expensive.

3.) See number 1 again…absurd, ridiculous, shady, hidden in fine print and explained by customer service as a "Progressive Rule" Really?

4.) Cheap aftermarket parts to repair your vehicle, God forbid that's required, shoving you into "Progressive acceptable" lowest bidder autobody companies that do cheap work with aftermarket parts. To put it another way, you'll almost definitely see a subtle slight difference in paint shade on just that fender…good luck getting a front/end grill that does not look like it belongs to a slightly different year car, it's in the details here.

5.) Customer service runs from pretty dumb to rude, coming across as if it's some kind of privilege to be insured by Progressive. The customer is not treated with courtesy, they are treated as someone to be given fees, bumped up in policy cost, and generally as an annoyance that they are calling to question or complain about any of this.

6.) Immediately hammer down policy cancellation if your payment is a day late, slap you with fees, send you something in paper snail mail as a warning. Who reads snail mail? Better start, and read well, if you have Progressive.

7.) Have to closely monitor your bill, it changes, goes up, does not interface with some of the largest online banking institutions for things like auto pay and bill reminders…rather conveniently.

8.) Sneaky add-ons they slip in as options Progressive deems you need, based on the tracking app they talk you into using to obtain a "safe driver" rate discount. This is perhaps the biggest scam. They send you a little device to plug into your car's programming port (unlike other companies that use your phone/app to do so). This devise beeps rather loudly every time you exceed what Progressive deems as safe driving. Which is apparently driving about an hour total per week, just to the grocery store around the corner, and not any sort of hectic daily commute. If you have to brake even a bit hard because some asshole in front of you is brake checking or looked up from their phone a bit late, YOU pay for it. BEEP. Not even slamming the brakes on, just stopping in 2-3 car lengths to avoid slamming into the person that slammed their brakes on somewhere ahead. If you live in Boston/New England. This thing will be beeping all day. Had to accelerate to merge onto the expressway without getting killed? BEEP! Had to quickly merge to an offramp to get ahead of people merging slowly or lane straddling? BEEP!

9.) I just went with another insurance company and AM PAYING ABOUT A THIRD FOR NEW INSURANCE for basically same coverage. Seriously. Previously when I called to discuss a bill or go through the "press 1 to pay your bill" route on the phone…I got a rep in about three minutes. When I called to confirm I was cancelling…I was placed on hold for almost an hour, three times, before giving up and just letting the policy die due to non payment. Sound suspicious? Yep…Progressive sucks, they do not give a crap. Go to anyone else first for quotes.

My wife and I are Senior citizens and have the same vehicles for several years now. We have ZERO CLAIMS NOT EVEN A MINOR BUMP and our payments went up 90$. My wife called to find out why and the answer was due to our zip code and the amount of accident occurrences in the area. Why should I pay for some idiots accident claims I don't have them insured. PROGRESSIVE HAS THEM INSURED SO LET PROGRESSIVE PAY FOR THE CLAIMS THAT THE AGREED TO ON THE APPLICATION OF EACH PERSON. THERE SHOULD BE A LAW AGAINST ROUGE BUSINESS PRACTICES SUCH AS THIS……BULL!

Progressive has the worst customer service, you can't talk to real people, full policy's can't cover certain distant tows, for example a 14 mile tow isn't covered had to pay 170.64 out of pocket for a tow but the never sent anyone so I'm stranded with my car for about an hour and I'm calling and calling no help, so I just canceled it and got asap towing to help they picked it up and got it to a shop near my house in under an hour, then asking for a reimbursement is a nightmare because there's no real people to talk to just constant rerouting and to the wrong areas and the girls don't know what to do but send you to someone else and then they don't answer and there voice boxes are full… when my policy ends I will be switching insurance to someone that will actually insure me and be there when I need it.. maybe it's just there auto insurance but it's ridiculous #Progressive #fixyourissues

progressive just take 1200.00 from my bank account just because their decide to change my policy , they didn't call me or send me an email
I have automatic payment so they can do what ever they want , I call them ask the m I don't want you news policy the said ok , they just refund 200.00 , i never have accident for 20 years never one claim , never accept the automatic payment you give them direct access to your bank account , terrible mistake . until you pay everything is ok if tomorrow you have problem they no going to help you

I switched to progressive when the pandemic hit in order save money. All of the insurance companies operate the tows like that, but progressive sucks! I'm getting rid of them ASAP. Nothing good to say about their company.

I bought a new car in July got insurance and paid 6 months signed papers online and was good to go now 3 months later there demanding 178 more dollars or there shutting my insurance off when I paid in full the thing is they tried chsnging my policy without me knowing to charge me more and there being straight rude about it

Many people complaints about them and their stealing practices and the law is either too expensive to get or is too lax to get it. In Florida the Financial Services Office, is the one that deals with complains against insurance companies. But they act only as a messenger or courier, they get the complaint, add it up to a list, send it to the insurance company, wait 20 days for a response, then when they get it, they can take two more weeks to give the answer to the complainant. It is of no use at all. Progressive lies to them as easily as they lie to you. It seems that FFS is only another hole, paid by taxpayers, to get some dishonest people a chance to wear a tie, with a glamorous title, like Insurance specialist, whom solve nothing and just get a big paycheck. In my case they even turn against me and took sides with the insurance company, with very rude ways of answering letters. But hey, nobody cares, not the legislators, or senators. Maybe some news reporting will be needed to show them as the scam they are.
