I live in florida and had direct general auto insurance. I got a new policy with geico that is $60 cheaper per month and wanted to cancel direct, and they told me I have to come to their office to cancel. I am not about to drive 30 miles to their office in my old beater truck that goes through a quart a day, and stalls every other block, just to cancel insurance that costs more per month than my whole truck was. Will my license get suspened or will they just cancel the policy if I just abandon it and use geico?
if i cahnge car insurance after 7 days of getting it due i have to pay the full amount?

i’m an insurance agent and it KILLS me how many people call in and have never had insurance or havent for years, months, whatever.
BTW even if you do not have your own car, if you ever drive at all you are supposed to have insurance. it’s the law. it’s called a non-owners policy and it’s very cheap for most people. and if you are driving a friend’s car and they have insurance and you dont, and you get into an accident the other person can go after both you and the owner seperately and you’ll have no protection.
