I am 18 years old and I am trying to buy insurance for my car. I noticed that the prices for insurance are really high for teen drivers. I was just wondering if my parents could buy the insurance under their name so the payments can be cheaper or does the policy have to be under my name.
My car is registered under both my father and my name.

I wanted to file a small claims suit instead of go through my insurance company & pay the deductable. But now I wonder if the process and fees are cheaper in the short term to just pay the deductable. Plus I have no idea on how to file a small claims suit (though I will research it). Any ideas?

One of my parents recently had their license suspended and when i called to another insurance company to get a quote they told me they couldn’t write the policy because of the other driver’s suspension. If the car is in my name and no one else drives it but me because they each have their own car and their own insurance, why wont the insurance company write the policy for me?
