I'm not sure what the law reads over seas, but in America (in most states) not only is it required for drivers to yield to emergency vehicles, it is also required that emergency vehicles must slow down and clear intersections before entering them. This allows time for drivers to see the emergency vehicle and react/yield. 95% of these accidents could have been prevented, had the fire apparatuses cleared the intersection.

It amazes me how many people are dumb enough to turn the same direction the other vehicles turning instead of the opposite. perfect example 2:00 if they'd have turned left instead of trying to turn inside the other vehicle they'd have been fine.

Jesus Christ, the first clip from a UK fire engine, unbelievable, the driver of the car in front is obliged to move out of the way to allow the emergency vehicle to pass even to the point of having exemption on passing a red traffic signal if they're clearing a path for an emergency vehicle responding. Not this guy, I mean, it's not like the fire engine is likely to be responding to a situation where lives may well be in danger. FFS, just oblivious. I hope the same happens when they're stuck in a dangerous situation…
