Hard to tell why he went down, but it looks like with the acceleration the front tyre lost contact lifting off the ground a bit. Looking at the it looks like the bike was leaning over for a few beats before he went down it looks like he lost balance with the front wheel in the air and when it came down it was not well aligned. HE should have opened up the throttle again to lift the front a bit and correct.
Looks like he got spooked… tensed up and fell instead.

Mistake was also race style acceleration on crappy public road surface. Kids need to know that race track surface is in another league compared to public roads. You just can't go nuts with a light supersport on public road asphalt. I see it all the time here on Molholland Highway.

Impressive
