Your calculations are wrong and misleading.
You ignored the payment of Rs. 11,682 after 10th year in '37 years' option. And therefore, impact of outflow of Rs. 11,682 for next 27 years after 10th year is not there in your comparison.
Simply saying…
Present Value (PV) of all premium outflows in '37 years' option is Rs. 2,32,569.
And PV of all premium outflows in '10 years' option is Rs. 2,18,981
Note : 4% rate is taken at annual compounding and all premium outflows are considered at beginning of years for this calculation for being more precise
So '10 years' option is more beneficial in this example.
However this conclusion will change if interest rate is taken at 4.75 % or higher and in such case, '37 years' option will be more beneficial.
Please tell how many years term plan policy should be taken to any individual. Upto 60/65/70 or 75 years.
