  1. Would love to hear from you guys about how the fees eat up the "cash value" and if you have a loss that that "cash value" goes back to the insurance company.

  2. I figure if I had to replace my wife's labor it would cost me at least $63,510.00 ($7.25 * 24 * 365) – and that's just for one year! That's if I can find anyone to takeover all those duties for that price (and no, a wife has to ready to work even when she's sleeping). This is based on the minimum USA hourly wage on 06/27/2019.

  3. I'm 43, wife is 42, we just renewed a 20 year policy with her as a rider. Death benefit is about 8X my annual income, wife's is about 20X her income. In 20 years, I will be financially stable enough to let this policy expire. I'm eating what you guys are cooking. Keep it up and thanks for solid advice!

  4. Bo is back. These car talks are great. Thankfully, my job gives $250k as part of my benefits package, so it doesn’t cost me anything out of pocket. I ended having my elderly parents to cancel their life insurance policies. They were costing too much for just a pittance of payout. Instead, my mom and I are setting up funeral arrangements in the future for when they pass so there are no surprises. All us kids are grown up, and they have good retirement income so no insurance needed for them.

  5. Im 39 years old i have no employee to match a 401k.. have a family of 3 children, have a fully funded roth IRA yearly so i have a whole life insurance policies for 150k.. im using it for insurance plus another investment bucket.. its about 90 bucks a month have a child 8 months old.. i guess my question is being an entrepreneur what better options do I have?

  6. You guys should have also mentioned social security survivors benefit for children. While reviewing my SS statement I was suprised to find my son would get $2200 a month if I passed today up to age 18 I believe. That's about twice as much as I pay for his child support. Plus I have a nice size amount of cash in my IRA and 401k as well as the equity in my house and my only debt is the remaining balance on my mortgage. I'm not married and my son is the only dependent I have. His mom has a very good job herself. I see no reason at all for me to buy life insurance. In fact most people on the FIRE track likely don't need life insurance.
