I've wondered about this for years. For example, you're stopped in a traffic light and a sleepy driver hits your rear bumper. Whose insurance provider should this be claimed under? This actually happened to me and I claimed it under my provider while the sleepy driver just paid my participation fee and some inconvenience fee. Did I do the right thing?
