What do you think of Lyft's new requirements? PS check out this app called GetUpside, it helps you save money on every gallon of gas you buy (plus discounts on food, too). You can download the app using our referral link and code here: https://www.therideshareguy.com/getupside
That’s insane. I’m in San Diego, California and the Lyft requirements are only 2001 or newer?
just says 2008 or newer now.
I just started doing Lyft two weeks ago and i drive a 2008 car so idk how i got approved
Alabama touches Florida not Mississippi
New subscriber! I hope to see an update on Florida’s new driver requirements being changed to 2007. Thanks for your videos. No one has made a video on this topic yet because it was just recently changed this month Nov 2019
It is important to double-check facts when you see videos like this one. I checked their vehicle requirements for Florida today (Nov 2019) and it says only Tampa, Miami, and Orlando applies. Everywhere else in FL is 2007 or newer. Here is what it says EXACTLY on Lyft's website:
Vehicle requirements
2017 or newer: Miami Orlando, Tampa
Applies to new driver applicants and existing drivers who wish to change their primary vehicle, or add a secondary vehicle to their profile
2007 or newer: All other cities
4 doors
5-8 seats, including the driver's
Not on the list of ineligible subcompact vehicles
Not a taxi or stretch limousine
Not titled as salvage, non-repairable, rebuilt or any other equivalent classification

Yes, this is a move for driver control. Nothing else justifies this. Florida’s roads are generally in very good condition. Next will be banning existing drivers with cars older than 2017; putting limits on airport queues (Uber is doing that in MIA) and eventually putting a cap (doing the same that Grubhub and Instacart does- putting new applicants to a waitlist) everywhere in Florida.
In Houston it is 2015…so if i buy a 2015 Avalon in nice shape with 157K miles I would be ok? Its black with black leather for 10K one owner CARFAX perfect! Would last another 150-200K
I just tired to apply to be a driver and when I was the requirement I was like bitch what?!
It’s stupid because you can keep driving with an old car if you already have it uploaded
This is incorrect. It's not Florida. It's 2007 in Florida. 2017 only applies to Miami-Tampa-Orlando
Georgia and SC Now have this rule.
My 2016 Luxury SUV doesn't qualify but my uncle's 2017 Kia Forte does ????. The worst thing is, they change things without telling us. No email, no notification, nothing! Lyft is getting worse and I won't do it for pennies. GOOD BYE LYFT! You can shove my 4,000+ 5-star ratings up your a……
I just bought a 2016 corolla and was gonna do lyft and found out its too old????
california does not have to many drivers?
Well here in Houston the are requesting a 2015 or newer car or you have to Lyft Express
FYI this restriction only applies to three markets Orlando, Miami, & Tampa. All cities outside of these market will this be able to use vehicles that are 2007 or Newer

Florida has personal zones now. Primetime is dead.
46 cents a mile for express drive in Miami. Do not do it.
and they slashed rates huge at the same time. This whole rideshare thing is untenable and is unraveling for the scam that it is.
