I thought you were going to run the cars from 1970?
Hey John, I just won this set from u with me being the highest bidder and you shipped it to me today, I m now bidding on the tune-up tower, thx's from your friend Marty the hot wheels junkie ?????
Ther cars are racing quite fast still by the time they get to the chutes.. lol
I recently got the mongoose and snake drag set from the hot wheels classics line. I actually had the set back in December of 2005. I still have some of the pieces but this fresh set I’ll keep in the best shape possible.
Revisionist history I don't know why they tried to call it the snake and Mongoose now maybe because Prudhomme was ultimately more successful
La mas hermosa autopista para mi opinion si alguien vende una me avisan
Thanks for the memories
Cool! Check out the movie:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lih4k_cM9IE
Cool!!!!
I have a original set. "In the box". The box isn't in the best shape but the set is mint and complete. How much is the value
I got that set for my birthday in May 1970. I was seven years old. I had every car from '68 to '70. Wish I still had them!
Great vid my 85 yr Mom jus gave me back my drag race set missing a few ,but the cars r there ,had so much fun when i was a kid thanks for sharing
The Mongoose vs Snake rivalry was the greatest of the era because Tom McEwen was a great promoter who figured out how to finance the best equipment (sponsorship with Mattel) and Don Prudhomme had the special drag racing quality, which you'll notice in his interviews, of being a gentleman. Both men naturally commanded a lot of respect and people noticed.
Lane 1 is faster, winner each time…;-)
I WANT MINE BACK!!! =)
Thanks again Also we do appreciate you posting these vintage race sets Its a pleasure seeing them on Youtube …So many younger HotWheel collectors do know of these great race sets ..But.so many have never seen these sets in action ..and many of the ones that are older collectors may have seen them in collector catalogs but haven't ever seen them in working in action..Thank for it all .You do great(work) video. Keep posting more . You're the man..
Actually, it's pretty easy to make. The base is just a piece of board. Put a loop on it and trace out a support bracket with paper and scissors. Copy the paper template 4 times onto another piece of wood and cut it out with a jigsaw. But, for the true non-carpenter, take a look at my videos of the 68 Strip Action 68 Stunt Action & 70 Drag 'Chute Stunt Sets. The loop is on a wood base and is held down with salmon-colored tape. Works nearly as well as the wood supports.
BTW What would you take to make me one of them loop holder..?
I'm serious.!
This is the best race set Mattel made for us back then…I race mine once in awhile …I still get that thrill that I got when I received mine on Christmas day when I was a kid.
Race Groove you are the man.. Keep posting more more more.
